Knights of Columbus Fr. James J. McCafferty Council 11013 of Yardley, PA and St. Ignatius Parish, in association with the families of deceased Council Brothers, has established a Scholarship Program aimed at helping students and their families meet the costs of secondary and post-secondary education. We are proud and grateful to be associated with these awards and encourage all that are eligible to apply for consideration.

Knights of ColumbusWilliam C. Gibney Memorial Scholarship for High School Education
The Fr. James J. McCafferty Council No.11013 of Yardley, PA and St. Ignatius Parish is pleased to offer the William C. Gibney Memorial Scholarship for students to assist with the cost of high school tuition. Two awards of $1,000 each will be given in the name of the late William C. Gibney, who was a member of the Fr. James J. McCafferty Council No. 11013 and a 4th degree Knight. He was a founding “Charter Member” and an Officer of the Council. William was a man of many deep convictions and exemplified a life of commitment to the Knights of Columbus’ ideals of charity, faith, and service to others. He was a World War II U.S. Merchant Marine Officer, crossing the Atlantic several times during war times. He raised ten children as a member of St. Ignatius Parish. This scholarship has been established to honor and continue his legacy.
To qualify for the Scholarship, applicants must be a registered full-time student at a tuition-based high school or vocational school in the fall of 2024. Applications must be received by April 15, 2024and include:

2) Evidence of acceptance or re-enrollment at a tuition based secondary high school or technical school.
3) Two letters of recommendation.
4) Essay (two pages maximum) describing involvement, including any leadership positions, in service to community, faith (parish) community, family, etc. Please describe how these may have benefitted you in your individual growth. Describe future plans, both during the upcoming year as well as after graduation.

The Fr. James J. McCafferty Council No.11013 of Yardley, PA and St. Ignatius Parish is pleased to offer the Richard Green Memorial Scholarship for students accepted to a college, university, or vocational school. As a Korean War Veteran, retired NYPD Detective, 4th degree Knight, Council Officer, and devout Catholic husband and father of three daughters, Richard Green was a man of service to his country, community, family, and faith. This Scholarship has been established to continue his legacy. To qualify for this year’s $2,000 Scholarship, applicants must have already received and/or be on schedule to receive a High School Diploma or GED by 6/30/2024 or be a registered full-time student at an accredited college, university and/or vocational school for the fall of 2024 or winter 2025. Applications must be received by May 16, 2024, and include:
